Where Our Coffee Grows

Robusta · Central Highlands

Dak Lak is the country's largest coffee province, with roughly 213,000 ha, and Lam Dong comes second at about 176,000 ha. Most Robusta is dry-processed (natural): cherries are sun-dried, hulled, then sorted by screen and density. Harvest runs from about October to January, peaking in November and December.

Arabica · Lam Dong & Son La

Arabica is a small share of the crop, grown at altitude around Cau Dat near Da Lat (Lam Dong) and in Son La in the north-west, where the planted area was about 26,000 ha at the end of 2025. We ship it fully washed.

New province names

Vietnam merged its provinces on 1 July 2025: former Dak Nong is now part of Lam Dong, and Binh Dinh is part of Gia Lai. Documents for lots from these areas show the new names.

How Robusta Is Graded

Green coffee is sized on round-hole screens measured in 64ths of an inch. The Vietnamese standard TCVN 4193:2014 caps moisture at 12.5% and sets grades by defects and foreign matter.

ScreenHole sizeTypical use
S187.14 mmLarge beans for espresso blends and premium retail
S166.35 mmThe workhorse grade for commercial blends
S135.16 mmSmaller beans for value blends and soluble coffee

In trade contracts, Grade 1 S16/S18 is commonly quoted at 12.5% moisture and about 2% black and broken beans, and Grade 2 S13 at 13% moisture and 5%. These are market conventions, not limits set by TCVN; each product page lists the limits we contract to.

Packing & container load

A 20ft container holds 320 jute or PP bags of 60 kg, which is 19.2 MT net. One-tonne jumbo bags or a bulk liner are available on request.

EUDR for EU buyers

Coffee (HS 0901) is covered by the EU Deforestation Regulation. Under the December 2025 amendment it applies from 30 December 2026 for large and medium operators and from 30 June 2027 for micro and small ones. For EU-bound lots we supply plot geolocation (latitude and longitude to six decimals, polygons for plots over 4 ha) for your due-diligence statement.
